Hot air balloons will take to the skies over the Sandy Creek Fairgrounds in Oswego County, New York. There will also be plenty of action on solid ground with music, a petting zoo, crafts and vendors June 6, 7 and 8 at the Oswego County Balloon Festival.<\/p>\n

The event opens at 3 p.m. June 6, and closes with music by Frostbit Blue June 8.<\/p>\n

Balloon pilots Peter and Scott Griswold will bring at least 10 hot balloons in a variety of styles. Balloon launches will be Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning, and Saturday and Sunday nights, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

After the sun sets Saturday evening, spectators will be treated to the sight of glimmering hot air balloons on display during the \u201cballoon glow\u201d from 9 to 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

The event is being organized by All Over Events of Pulaski.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sandy Creek Fairgrounds is an ideal setting for a balloon festival,\u201d said event planner Melissa Stevens. \u201cBack in the days of the traditional agricultural fairs around the turn of the century, hot air balloonists were frequent visitors at country fairs. There is plenty of space for parking, vendors and balloon displays, and the paved walkways make it easy to get around for the disabled and families with kids in strollers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stevens has arranged for a full line-up of music from start to finish.<\/p>\n

In addition to Frostbit Blue, the weekend entertainment includes the Jason Wicks Band, F5, Kevin Barringer and Rich Richmond and the Whitetail Band, Fulton Chain Gang, TJ Sacco and the Urban Cowboys, Country Swagg and Emalee Herrington.<\/p>\n

One dollar of every admission ticket will benefit Music for the Mission of Syracuse.<\/p>\n

Balloon rides will be available through balloon pilots Scott and Peter Griswold of Above All Balloon Rides of Syracuse.\u00a0The Griswold family co-founded the Jamesville Balloon Festival many years ago.\u00a0To book a ride in advance, call Peter Griswold at 315-263-0385.<\/p>\n

Other activities include a wine tasting tent, kids\u2019 zone, food vendors, crafts, a bounce house and riding bull.<\/p>\n
