More than 20 hot-air balloons from across America will converge at the second annual Balloons over Horseshoe Bay Resort in Texas over Easter weekend, April 18-20, at the AAA four-diamond Horseshoe Bay Resort.\u00a0 This year\u2019s festival will feature new activities including: historic war plane flyovers, powered parachutes and award-winning live music.<\/p>\n

Two special shaped balloons highlight this year\u2019s balloon entries. Spunky the Flying Skunk and The Purple People Eater are two balloons sure to grab the crowd\u2019s attention. Like last year, balloon glows will be held on both Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s opening night festivities (open to resort overnight VIP package guests only) will include tethered hot-air balloon rides for all attendees, live music by Sauce the Band, and a BBQ dinner buffet.<\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s festivities (open to the public) starts with a balloon ascension scheduled for 7:00 a.m.\u00a0 Powered parachute demonstrations and a WWII historic aircraft flyover highlight a busy Saturday morning schedule. \u00a0Alamo Helicopters will provide helicopter rides throughout the day with wine tastings and an antique car show rounding out the day\u2019s activities at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Jet Center.<\/p>\n

Saturday evening will include skydivers, the Balloon glow grand finale and a concert by Austin\u2019s own Reckless Kelly.<\/p>\n

Tickets for Saturday\u2019s festivities are $20 per adult. Children 12 and under are admitted free with parent (limit two children per accompanying parent).\u00a0 Public parking will be available at Horseshoe Bay Resort\u2019s Summit Rock Golf Club with complimentary shuttles running to and from the festival entrance starting on Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the festival will conclude with private balloon rides in the morning and a Gospel Brunch featuring Pamela Hart, live in concert, at the Palm D\u2019Or Pavilion at Horseshoe Bay Resort.<\/p>\n
