A bold aerialist crossed a 60-foot-long tightrope between two hot air balloons, high above the grassy floor of China’s Naigu Stone Forest.<\/p>\n
Wubulikaisimu had tried and failed to complete another tightrope walk last month.<\/p>\n
Aisikaier Wubulikaisimu, 40, set a new world record Tuesday morning for quickest high-wire walk between two stationary points: 38.35 seconds.<\/p>\n
Guinness World Record judges and spectators gaped at \u2014 and verified \u2014 Wubulikaisimu’s feat of daring 108 feet overhead the nation’s southwestern Yunnan province.<\/p>\n
Wubulikaisimu received a certificate veryfing his accomplishment.<\/p>\n
At one point, the Chinese Uighur daredevil squatted on the beam to keep his balance in the cloudy sky. The pause sent shivers down onlookers’ spines.<\/p>\n
But as the nerve-wracking spectacle came to a close and Wubulikaisimu climbed aboard the second hot air balloon, his fans erupted into thunderous applause and banged drums in celebration.<\/p>\n
The feat earned Wubulikaisimu recognition by Guinness World Records.<\/p>\n
Shortly after, Wubulikaisimu returned to the ground, where he received a certificate verifying his record-setting walk.<\/p>\n
Decked out in traditional clothing, everyone gathered around Wubulikaisimu to celebrate a day of thrills, chills, but no spills!<\/p>\n
Just last month, Wubulikaisimu was not so lucky. He slipped from a high-wire during a 2,300-foot walk, 650 feet over a gorge in the Hunan province.<\/p>\n
But he did not fall until the final leg of the stunt, where he was about 132 feet off the ground and only suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n
