Balloonist finds stolen items on eBay
The victims of a recent home burglary say they know where their stolen stuff is. Problem is, someone is already trying to sell it.
On the outside, the family’s home in Taylor Ranch is full of holiday cheer with lights shining bright. But inside, online shopping has been replaced with online tracking.
One by one, hot air balloon enthusiast Keith Reeves can only look on as some of his precious belongings go up for bid on eBay.
“There’s the GPS. There’s the knife,” said Reeves, pointing to the screen.
The family is also missing some expensive jewelry.
“This was my dad’s. This was his scanner,” he said. “This is the other radio right here. Right there in the front it says: Crew B Balloon. And those were the frequencies I programmed into the radio.”
Brazen home burglars struck in broad daylight on November 12. The loss may have been worse had it not been for a vigilant neighbor.
“He said, ‘Are they home? And she said my husband’s in there talking to them.'”
As he turns to walk away the lady starts yelling, “Honey, hurry up. Hurry up, honey.”
The family’s been on the lookout ever since.
Turns out, a lot of their stuff was sold to a local pawnshop.
Police think someone at the pawnshop is now selling it on eBay. They say the business is cooperating in the investigation.
“There are the last five digits of the serial number on it,” said Reeves, pointing at a picture.
With every other click of the mouse, another item pops up, leaving this family feeling violated and outraged all over again.
“I’ve worked for everything I’ve got. Get out and get a job,” Reeves said.
Police urge you to take pictures of your property. The Reeves have empty boxes with their items’ serial numbers on them, which is also very important.
All of the items in question have a hold so you won’t be able to buy them for now.
As for the suspects, they were seen driving a white car with damage to the bumper and some kind of red print on the hood.
