Canberra Balloon Spectacular – First weekend
Events have got of to a great start in Canberra for the city’s annual Balloon Spectacular.
This annual fiesta is among the top ballooning events world-wide and attracts pilots and their balloons from Europe, Asia, America and of course Australia.
The 10-day event started Friday morning with over 40 balloons taking to the skies.
In almost perfect conditions some of the balloons headed out low over the lake.
Of particular note were special shaped balloons – a football, Peg-leg Pete the Pirate Parrot and the controversial art piece balloon, Skywhale.
Canberra’s Balloon Spectacular continues through till next weekend so there is still plenty of time to see the aerial show.
