Santa arrives by balloon giving 20,000 stuffed animals to kids
Bank of American Fork asked Santa Claus to take off in a hot air balloon from downtown Wednesday after the bank collected over 20,000 stuffed animals for Utah’s at-risk children.
On the carpeted floor of its headquarter, on Main Street, stood a nearly 8-foot mountain of thousands of plush toy animals, as the bank’s senior vice president for treasury and administration, Brian Thompson, opened the envelope and read the collection tally: 20,480.
The event, attended by a large group of guests, bank representatives and dignitaries, is the latest example of a company showing it is part of a community and doesn’t merely do business with it.
