Rita to set up a balloon school in Bhopal
Rita Yadav, Indias first woman hot-air balloon commercial pilot, wants to set up her training school in Bhopal.
“It will be the first of its kind in the country. Bhopal has tremendous potential for adventure sport,” said Rita.
Ritas message on womens day –
“Nothing is impossible if you have family support. Women should believe in themselves. Whatever I have achieved till date, I owe it to my family.”
Rita started flying hot-air balloons in 2001 and travelled across the globe, participating in hot-air ballooning events.
“I want young girls of Bhopal to opt for this profession and other adventure sports. I have been coming to Bhopal for five years and have found youth high on adventure sports,” Rita said.
Rita said a school for hot-air balloon will help aspirants become a certified pilot, rather than going abroad for training. “Even the district collector liked the idea of opening a school for hot air balloon. Also, this school will be less expensive,” she said.
